Next generation Delta robotic packaging solutions offer lower TCO

Delta Roboter

Interpack 2014 saw the launch of advanced, hygienic vision-guided robotic solutions from Bosch for both, primary and secondary packaging. Targeted at food producers keen to lower their total cost of ownership (TCO), the machines promote food safety and boost processing line efficiency.

To simplify operations and maximize uptime, Bosch has further reduced the number of parts by an impressive 60 percent in comparison to the previous generation robots. The new light but robust GD33 Delta robot offers higher pick rates and improved payload capability up to three kilos. Completely rethinking its approach, the new harmonized and open frame design means food producers will benefit from ease of use, reduced service time and, ultimately faster return on investment.

So what else is new? With production line hygiene being high priority for food manufacturers, Bosch offers the new stainless steel frame design option incorporating smooth and easy-to-clean features. Access to the working area is now available from both front and rear, further reducing maintenance, cleaning and changeover times.

But it’s not just the visible elements that have been upgraded. Under the hood, the GD33 Delta robot takes advantage of Bosch’s Gemini 4, its fourth generation control and software platform, offering an exceptional degree of application flexibility.

“Robotics is today’s technology for lowering total cost of ownership of production lines,” says Marc de Vries, sales director, Bosch Packaging Technology. “The new functionalities of our robotic packaging machine portfolio offer more versatile and complete solutions for food, confectionery and non-food industries.”

With an installed base of more than 3,000 units worldwide, Bosch Packaging Technology is one of the leading suppliers of Delta robots supporting food producers in achieving higher production output and meeting the growing demand for diverse products.
