Switching on success

Elematic 6000

Model companies really do exist, and Busch-Jaeger Elektro GmbH in Lüdenscheid, Germany, is one of them. The market leader manufactures state-of-the-art electrical installation technology such as light switches, outlets, dimmers, motion detectors, and other high-tech products. These must reach wholesalers safely and securely packaged, and for this, the company has a reliable partner at its side: Bosch Packaging Technology has been helping Busch-Jaeger write its success story since 1996.

Turning old into new
In spring 2014, the second Bosch-designed line went into operation at Busch-Jaeger, packing switch inserts. The Elematic 6000 FLC (forming, loading, closing) forms cases that open upwards, inserts partitions, fills the cases by robot, and seals them with hot glue.

On target with advice and knowledge
Busch-Jaeger is extremely pleased with the renewed collaboration. “We opted for Bosch technology because of the company’s expertise, long-term experience, and emphasis on close cooperation,” says Waldemar Morawietz, project manager at Busch-Jaeger. “This made it possible to find the solution that’s perfect for us.” The machine used is very tolerant of variations in cardboard packaging.

An electrifying future
One week after delivery, the Elematic line had already been put to work packing. Downtimes have been minimized and spare parts procurement has been simplified. The machine operators at Busch-Jaeger are particularly enthusiastic about the Elematic 6000 FLC’s outstanding accessibility, which makes maintenance and repairs easier and is an important improvement for work safety. With the new packaging machine, Busch-Jaeger achieves energy savings of 50 percent compared to the previous machine. This not only increases productivity, but also supports Busch-Jaeger’s corporate philosophy on energy management.
