Ampoules – true all-rounders

Bosch ALF for ampoule fillung

Ampoules are suitable for a wide range of liquid pharmaceuticals. They are among the most commonly used pharmaceutical containers and the demand is increasing – especially in the emerging markets Brazil, Russia, India and China.

At Pharmatag 2016 in Crailsheim, Germany, Bosch recently presented the new filling and closing machine ALF 5000 for ampoules and injection bottles to its customers. With the new machine, drug manufacturers can flexibly respond to the growing needs. In addition to an increased output of up to 600 ampoules per minute, the new ALF 5000 provides an improved pharmaceutical design: the machine table top is conceived without steps and interfering edges, providing a more reliable sealing from the sterile area. Moreover, the machine’s improved accessibility ensures an easier cleaning. Modified motion-sequences within the machine avoid machine movements above the open ampoules, making the filling process safer and more sanitary.

Maximum flexibility for our customers

The ALF 5000 can be combined with upstream and downstream equipment to form a complete line.
As an option, a statistical or a 100 % in-process control, as well as different infeed and outfeed versions are possible. “We have used our expertise from more than 2,000 delivered filling and closing machines for ampoules and combined it with our successful technology from other machine series,” Tobias Göttler, product manager at Bosch Packaging Technology, explains.“The result is an especially flexible solution that can be tailored to specific customer requirements.” Whether you need four, six, eight, ten or twelve filling points – all established filling systems can be used with the new machine. In its combi version, the ALF 5000 optionally processes injection bottles in addition to ampoules, which further increases production flexibility.
