Bosch lights up Industry 4.0

Christian Hanisch is project manager Industry 4.0 for pharma at Bosch Packaging Technology. He reports on the most recent Industry 4.0 solutions at Achema:

“Follow the white rabbit”, the children’s book character Alice thinks and finds herself in a wonderland full of fairy tale figures and objects. At Achema in Frankfurt, a multi-color light cube guides you on your way through our Industry 4.0 world. Unlike Alice, you will however not see fairy tale characters, but new and specific i 4.0 solutions, which are optimally fine-tuned to your requirements as pharmaceutical manufacturer and ensure a high productivity and availability of your equipment. How? By providing full transparency of machine and process data. At several different machines, we will show you how machine condition and process parameters can be easily monitored and analyzed – and enable you to take fact-based decisions in real time.

One of our highlights is the new Pharma i 4.0 Starter Edition. It visualizes machine and process data on dashboards. You can experience it live at Achema on three of our machines. Condition monitoring and event tracking become child’s play – and you have an overview of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) at any time.

With the new Data Mining service, we offer you support with data analyses of your equipment and processes. Large amounts of data can be examined for the smallest effects using statistical methods. This way you can identify and remedy the root causes of faults more easily.

More transparency with Virtual und Augmented Reality

Alice would probably have enjoyed our new Virtual Reality training tool. Using special glasses, you can for instance perform a virtual format change at our booth. The training tool is part of the Bosch Packaging Academy and offers you time- and location-independent trainings and optimal knowledge management. We will also show you how Augmented Reality can support you with start-up or maintenance activities. Our solution guides you through the process on a laboratory device, from set-up to process control to make start-up and maintenance easier – without the need for extensive trainings.

Do you also want more data transparency? Meet our experts at Achema in Frankfurt, Germany, from June 11 to 15 in hall 3.1, booth C71.
